Often leaders think that a fun day in the woods with their team will build their relationship, friendship and performance. While climbing trees can be fun, it does little to build long term trust or increase performance and sustainable communication. To make impactful changes in your team and their efficacy toward one another, you as the leader must create an environment that it is safe to share thoughts and challenges every day. You as the leader must model what that looks like and create a workplace that fosters relationship to grow with each win and fail. Building team is not hard, it does however require effort, just as with building any relationship.
